Meet Dr. Yoon

Dr. Sarah Yoon is a proud and active alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania where she attended both dental school and Orthodontic residency.  She earned many awards during dental school where she graduated with honors.  Her research project during residency was chosen as the best of her class, and she later published this research in the American Journal of Orthodontics (Abstract of publication found here), the main peer reviewed journal of Orthodontics.

She is one of the few Board certified Orthodontists in the Santa Clara Valley, and the only Diplomate in Sunnyvale. As a diplomate, she is always striving to achieve the best results possible for her patients. She presented six cases to her peers, and underwent rigorous testing and dialogue supporting her treatment.  This process gave her tremendous attention to detail in her cases.

Before becoming an Orthodontist, Dr. Yoon practiced general dentistry for four years, and has a very strong background in dentistry.  This expansive knowledge in dentistry gives her the experience to treat complex adult cases.

Her professional passion is early intervention, or Phase I treatment, for our youngest patients.  She fully understands growth of the developing jaws, and can speak confidently about how children’s teeth and jaws can respond to Orthodontic treatment.  She also has very extensive experience in Invisalign, completing over a thousand cases.  If you have been told you are not a candidate for Invisalign, come see us!

Dr. Yoon has a wealth of understanding of child development, autism spectrum, ADHD and sensory processing disorder. If your child is nervous about the dentist, or has shown anxiety at the dentist before, we will put them at ease! If your child is typically developing, we treat all our patients in a gentle manner, and they will enjoy their experience with us.

When not in the office, Dr. Yoon spends all of her spare time with her two boys and husband.  Together they spend time at the beach, playgrounds and museums in the bay area.  They can be found scootering in the park and enjoying the beauty of California.
